Basic Searching
To find information about a topic, simply type in a few keywords. The
more detailed your query, the more relevant your results.
The term "coating" is not required. Since this is a coating directory, the word coating is ignored by the search engine.
Only use uppercase when needed.
A search on anodizing will match Anodizing, ANODIZING, and any other variations of capitalization, while the search term ANODIZING (capitalized) would match only links with ANODIZING (in uppercase) in them. The search term Anodizing will only match Anodizing (first letter uppercase).
Default Search: When you enter the terms aluminum anodizing the engine will match all listings that have the words aluminum and anodizing any where in their listing, but the words do not have to phrased together in that exact order.
Advanced Searching
Exact Phrase " " Search: When you enter the terms "aluminum anodizing"(with quotes around it)
the engine will only match listings that have the exact phrase aluminum anodizing. It will NOT match the individual words. For example it will not match any of the following:
..aluminum treatment and anodizing..;..anodizing aluminum..; ..anodizing of aluminum..;..anodizing services for aluminum..;. Exact phrase searching can be useful to narrow results but it can also eliminate vaild returns.
+ and - Search: Using the + (plus) and - (minus) symbols can be used to further narrow results.
Note: You do not need to use the + symbol unless you are going to use the - also. The default search is the same as the +.
The search +protective -concrete -roofing will return matches for protective with matches that contain the words concrete or roofing eliminated.
* (wildcard) Search: The * (asterisk) is a wildcard search character that can be put at the beginning or end of a word (not the middle). This can be helpful with search terms that have different endings.
Example roof* would match roof, roofs, and roofing.
seal* would match seals sealants and sealers
Note: You must use at least 3 characters with the * (i.e. roo* not ro*).
url: Search: Using the term url: allows you to search for a specific domain name. Examples: url:www.advancedcoating.com and url:advanced*.
